AquaTru in the News
“AquaTru’s Reverse Osmosis Water Purifier…filters water 80 percent more efficiently than traditional reverse osmosis filters…[It] combines a carbon filter with reverse osmosis to remove lead, chlorine, fluoride, nitrate, PFAS, and many other contaminants according to NSF standards.”
“AquaTru’s four-stage reverse osmosis technology removes 82+ contaminants and creates great-tasting water…a helpful control panel provides alerts when it’s time to change filters or conduct maintenance.”
“I absolutely LOVE it. Not only does the water taste incredible alone, but using this filtered water for tea and coffee makes such a difference. I've been a long time Brita user, but Brita doesn't filter anywhere near this good.”
“Purify water and remove everything from rocket fuel and radium to pesticides and herbicides. Naturally, it’ll also filter out unwanted tastes and odors.
Water never tasted so good (so good, so good, so good).”

Convenient
and effective
Purchased for daughter starting college this fall. Recommended by her functional medicine doctor. Tried it out at home first and it works well. Great portable counter top design.

Finally, countertop reverse osmosis
Finally I have Reverse Osmosis Water without spending thousands of dollars for the device and more to have a plumber come in to install a reverse osmosis device. The instructions were usable, so I was able to figure out how to put it together. It seems to work well. The water tastes fine. I bought two carafes so I can keep one in the refrigerator. I am pleased with my purchase.

Great option
I am a single person and I live in a rented apartment. The counter top reverse osmosis carafe is an awesome affordable addition to my kitchen. No more carrying water! Thank you for making clean water easily available.

Aqua Tru Review
I love it! Best gift we could give ourselves! Water is crystal clear and tastes great.

Just What We Needed
We were looking for a unit that has certifications for water quality, yields alkaline water, restores key minerals, and does not require plumbing. Our AquaTru Classic fits the bill perfectly.

FAQs
1. What is Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Filtration?
Reverse osmosis works by forcing water under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane that allows water molecules to pass through while blocking larger molecules like contaminants. The result is clean, purified water.
This system is so effective because it can filter contaminants as small as 0.0001 microns in size, which is smaller than most viruses and bacteria. It also filters harmful chemicals, heavy metals, and other impurities that can affect the taste and safety of your tap water.
While reverse osmosis is effective at removing a range of contaminants, it also removes some minerals that are beneficial to health. In that regard, RO filtered water is similar to rainwater. Some people are happy to drink it as is, while others choose to remineralize their water after filtration.
2. Is RO Filtration Effective?
Reverse osmosis (RO) is considered one of the most effective filtration processes for tap water. It can remove a wide range of contaminants, including dissolved solids, bacteria, viruses, and chemicals.
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), reverse osmosis systems can effectively remove all disease-causing pathogens and most chemical contaminants from water.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also states that reverse osmosis filtration systems are highly effective in removing bacteria, viruses, parasite cysts, and other microbes.
The World Health Organization (WHO): “Reverse osmosis has been demonstrated to be effective for the removal of dissolved constituents from water. Reverse osmosis can remove nearly all contaminants from water. These include bacteria, salts, natural organic substances, pesticides and other organic chemicals, and radionuclides.”
While reverse osmosis is effective at removing a range of contaminants, it also removes some minerals that are beneficial to health. In that regard, RO filtered water is similar to rainwater. Some people are happy to drink it as is, while others choose to remineralize their water after filtration.
3. What’s different about AquaTru’s RO process?
AquaTru is powered by its patented 4-stage Ultra Reverse Osmosis™ purification technology.
In Stage 1, the water passes through a mechanical pre-filter that removes larger particles like sediment and rust.
Stage 2 is the carbon filter that removes Chlorine and Chloramines.
In Stage 3, a high-pressure pump pushes the water through the reverse osmosis membrane, filtering out dangerous inorganic chemicals, including lead, chromium 6, arsenic, uranium, nitrates and dozens of other harmful contaminants.
And in Stage 4, the water passes through our activated coconut block filter, which removes organic compounds like rocket fuel, prescription drug residue and PFAS, and leaves you with pure, great-tasting water.
AquaTru works by recirculating water through the filters multiple times. This process flushes the filters to optimize performance and leaves concentrated contaminants in the tap water tank so you can easily discard it, making it highly efficient.
In fact, while traditional under the sink reverse osmosis systems can be highly inefficient (wasting anywhere from 2-5 gallons of water for every 1 gallon of purified water produced!), AquaTru produces 3/4 gallon of purified water for every 1 gallon of water that is filtered. That means you’re left with only 1/4 gallon of waste water that can be used to rinse dishes or even water your lawn.
4. What are PFAS/Forever Chemicals?
PFAS, (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), are a group of man-made chemicals that have been used in a wide variety of products since the 1940s. They are known as “forever chemicals” because they are extremely persistent in the environment and in the human body.
They can accumulate in bodies of animals and humans. PFAS can enter drinking water through industrial releases, discharges from sewage treatment plants, land application of contaminated sludge, leaching from landfills, and the use of certain firefighting foams.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that PFAS “can build up in the body over time and have been linked to health problems in people, including cancer, liver damage, and decreased fertility.”
The World Health Organization (WHO) says that PFAS “can have harmful effects on human health, including an increased risk of cancer, reproductive and developmental problems, liver damage, and decreased immunity.”
What can you do? Consider installing in-home water treatment/filtration that is certified to lower PFAS levels in your water.
5. Does Reverse Osmosis Remove PFAS?
Yes, reverse osmosis (RO) water purification is effective at removing PFAS from tap water.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), RO systems can remove up to 99% of PFAS from water. However, it is important to note that not all RO systems are created equal. Some systems may be more effective at removing PFAS than others.
6. What/Who are NSF and ANSI?
The NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) and the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) are trusted, independent organizations with rigorous water purification standards for public health and environmental protection.
The NSF and the ANSI are both accredited by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This means that their standards meet the highest international standards for quality and reliability.
