National Pet Day: Let’s Celebrate Our Furry Family Members - AquaTru

When Is National Pet Day?

At AquaTru, we know our pets make us better humans. Their wagging tails or happy purring bring us endless joy, so we plan to do the same for them on National Pet Day, which falls on April 11th. Our pets are like family, and here’s why and how we’ll show our furry friends a little extra love on this day.

The Positive Benefits of Being a Pet Owner

We don’t need to tell you that pets steal your heart. But we can tell you how they help your heart! Pet ownership is associated with reduced cortisol (stress hormone), blood pressure, and cholesterol levels—all measures of overall cardiovascular health. So, not only does the critter in your life make you happy, but they make your heart healthier, too.

And that just scratches the surface of the positive benefits of pet ownership! As the National Institutes of Health has reported, human-animal interactions are linked with many physical and mental health benefits. Some of these include:

  • Reduced levels of loneliness
  • Improved mood
  • Enhanced feelings of social support
  • Improved focus and attention
  • Increased physical activity level
  • Reduced levels of stress and anxiety

Because our pets provide us with so much, we want to return the favor! From catnip to chew toys, we’re sure to provide them with all of their favorite things—and we definitely don’t want to compromise when it comes to their water.

Whether it’s ice cubes on a hot day or freshly filtered, chilled AquaTru water, we give our pets what they deserve.

Give your Pets AquaTru Water Because They Truly Deserve the Best

Even if you’ve caught Fido lapping up water from the toilet bowl, know that animals, like humans, require safe, clean water for the best life. Similar to their owners, pets are about 60-80% water, so they should drink what we do!

Posing the same risks for animals as it does for humans, tap water can be high in dangerous contaminants like chlorine, fluoride, nitrates, heavy metals and even parasites! One such parasite—Giardia—is extremely dangerous for pets, especially puppies and kittens.

Why not clean up water for yourself and the furry members of your family?

Pets need fresh water—and they need a lot of it. That’s why we’re sure to replenish their bowls with fresh water purified by a AquaTru Reverse Osmosis Water Filter that’s certified to remove 83 contaminants known to lurk in tap water, and is capable of removing thousands more.

How Will You Celebrate National Pet Day?

In addition to contributing to safer slobbering, you can make April 11th extra special for (wo)man’s best friend by scheduling a veterinary check-up, treating them to a grooming session, or surprising them with a new toy or long walk.

Don’t have an animal at home? Use National Pet Day as the perfect reason to help one find their forever home. There are about 6.5 million animals currently in shelters and an adoption from an organization like The Humane Society is one of the best things you can do for these beautiful creatures.

However you choose to celebrate #NationalPetDay, let us in on the excitement! We’ll ooh and ahh over adorable fluff balls any day, so be sure to tag @AquaTru for any images of your April 11th celebrations!
